
TETFUND: SENATOR AHMAD BABBA KAITA WANTS FG TO ENHANCE THE ABILITY OF INDIGENOUS COMPANIES
Mallam Abdulkadir Lawal, the Special Assistant on Media to Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita, Katsina North. Issued a statement about the submission of the distinguished Senator, where he said:
“The Chairman Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND, Distinguished Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita representing Katsina North Senatorial District, wants the Federal Government to put in Place framework that will enhance the ability of indigenous companies to exploit local opportunities while staying viable globally.
Senator Kaita who made the call during plenary, emphasized the need for proper utilization of Local Content Policy/Act which was principally designed to build the capacity of indigenous companies and ensuring that Nigerian Business remain afloat and competitive.”
“The Senator frowned at the absence of clear local content policy in other sectors of the economy which according to him “has resulted in massive loss of jobs meant for Nigerians and poor remuneration of Nigerian workers employed by foreign Companies.”
In his prayers, Senator Kaita, urges the National Assembly to enact a local content law in other non oil- sectors to improve the capacity of Nigerian Businesses to protect job lost.” He concluded.
