Assalamu Alaikum Sen. Bala Muh’d Abdulkadir, The Governor of Bauchi State.
Your Excellency, sequel to the woeful failure of the partial/full lock down.
Measures to curtail the spread of COVID 19 in Bauchi State as a result of culture, poverty, ignorance, commerce and politics that are peculiar to our society, I wish to offer the following alternative towards the realisation of the same objective; namely, curbing the Spread of COVID-19 in Bauchi State:-
(1) In view of the fact that partial or full lock down is very unlikely to be tried again in Bauchi State due to its previous failure despite its devastation on commercial activities,
I wish to suggest that the state COVID-19 Palliative Committee should, with Immediate effect stop the purchase and distribution of food items/materials which has hitherto been characterised by irregularities, corruption and ineffeciency.
(2) The Committee should, instead, purchase and distribute surgical face masks and hand sanitizers to all households through the use of Mosques, Churches, NGOs and other avenues. Thereafter, the law pertaining to the use of face masks can be implemented wholly and defaulter/ deviants will be justifiably punished (fined).
(3) Further elaboration can be made if the suggestion is found worthwhile.
